Paul Barker – Open Source IoT with ThingsBoard & SanTrack – February 9th 2023

9th February 2023 on Zoom

What's it about?

This month we’ll be hearing all about Open Source IoT!

Paul Barker – Open Source IoT with ThingsBoard & SanTrack:

This talk will introduce the ThingsBoard Open-source IoT platform and SanCloud’s SanTrack IoT Platform. Using these technologies you can take full control over your IoT data and control plane, running the server software on-site or in the cloud, with self-hosting or managed hosting.

This flexibility empowers device owners, allows for improved data privacy and prevents lock-in.

Paul will discuss the features provided by this software, including:

  • Telemetry collection, visualization, analysis and alerting
  • Device management
  • Multiple tiers of access management and security
  • Data processing using Rule Chains
  • Multiple protocol support
  • Edge computing using the IoT Gateway
  • Remote attestation and improved security using Micron Authenta technology

Paul will also provide a demo using the SanCloud BeagleBone Enhanced (BBE) hardware platform and a small Python application to collect sensor data and submit it to SanTrack for analysis.

IMPORTANT TO KNOW!

Please note. Neither the speaker nor the Nottingham IoT Meetup are responsible for any damage to any components or hardware you may bring along.
